In the spring 2010 Steve from Steve's Painting Service received EPA's Lead Safe Renovation Certification, after completing an 8 hour course and passing a final exam. In addition to receiving his personal certification, Steve's Painting Service has also applied for and received a firm certification and is a EPA Lead Safe Renovation Firm. In April of 2010 a law was passed, that any painting contractor or remodeling contractor who is doing remodeling work in a house built prior to 1978 or a child-care facility must be certified and must perform the work according to the Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule.
